Mandy Showalter, MSOT, OTR/L, Occupational Therapist

Mandy Showalter, MSOT, OTR/L, BSN is an Occupational Therapist at the Center for Pediatric Therapies in Danville, Virginia. Mandy joined the team at CPT in February 2017.

Mandy holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Shenandoah University in Winchester, Virginia and a Master of Science in Occupational Therapy from Winston-Salem State University in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.

Before relocating to Danville and joining CPT,  Mandy provided occupational therapy to the Adult, Geriatric, and Neonatal populations in the hospital setting in Maryland. Prior to becoming an Occupational Therapist, Mandy worked in the hospital setting as a pediatrics Registered Nurse in North Carolina, Connecticut and Massachusetts.

Mandy is certified as an Early Intervention provider. She also holds certification in Infant Massage and is a member of the International Association of Infant Massage.

 

As an Occupational Therapist, Mandy’s goal is to help children to reach their maximum potential, coping and exceeding expectations despite the day-to-day challenges they may face. She enjoys working with children of all ages, helping them to gain independence and functionality to their everyday lives. Mandy also enjoys teaching opportunities and working with families to maximize each child’s potential.

Outside of work, Mandy can be found gardening, reading, and spending time with family, including her husband, daughter and 3 fur babies. Mandy also volunteers at church working with children 1-5yrs of age.
