Krystal Showers, MS, OTR/L, is an occupational therapist at the Center for Pediatric Therapies. She provides occupational therapy services to children in their homes and schools as well as in our outpatient clinics.
Krystal is licensed by the Virginia Board of Occupational Therapy to practice occupational therapy. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education from Westmont College in Santa Barbara, California. She also holds a Masters of Science in Occupational Therapy from The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
Prior to joining the team at the Center for Pediatric Therapies in January 2014, Krystal worked at Wake County Public Schools in Raleigh, North Carolina as a school based occupational therapist. Krystal has experience working in pediatric outpatient settings, school based settings and within interventional preschools.
Krystal has extensive experience working with preschool and school aged children who have a diagnosis of autism spectrum disorders as well as sensory processing disorders. She has worked with children with a variety of diagnoses including down syndrome, CHARGE syndrome, CP and developmental delays. Krystal enjoys working as a part of a multi-disciplinary team including families and other providers to best meet the needs of each child.
When she is not working at CPT, Krystal enjoys spending time with her husband and 2 dogs, traveling, hiking, skiing, reading, cooking and painting.
