Position Description: The Therapy Aide enhances the delivery of Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy and Speech-Language Pathology services at the Center for Pediatric Therapies through providing clerical support, organization of supplies, and customer service.
Hours of Work: This is a part-time position (approximately 12 to 15 hours/week). Sample schedule: Monday through Friday, 3pm to 6pm.
Attention College Students: Work hours may count towards observation hours necessary for admission to OT, OTA, PT, PTA or SLP degree programs. Work experience in a clinic is expected to improve your qualifications to entry to such as program.
Work Location: CPT Martinsville – 812 E. Church Street, Martinsville, VA 24112
Therapy Aide Duties and Responsibilities:
- Clerical tasks such as filing and making copies
- Organization of therapy supplies/materials
- Customer service, including answering the phone and greeting patients
Therapy Aide Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Organizational skills
- Able to communicate verbally and in writing professionally
- Able to work as part of a team to support the professional therapy staff
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel
- Reliable transportation to/from work
- Interest in a career as a pediatric therapist preferred
